Today

Today was one of those Mondays.

A day where no picture seems to go with it.
It is raining something terrible so we can't sleep with our windows open...makes a very unhappy Ashley.
The heating pad has been on my back from 2 hours and nothing is on tv.
I am trying, unsuccessfully, to be stressfree.

Please send nice thoughts my way for tomorrow....

McKeever's baby shower!

McKeever's baby shower for little Grayson was this afternoon! It was so great to see some ladies I have missed over the past few months! Here we are with McKeever in the middle-isn't she totally the most adorable pregnant girl ever!?!?!

Here am I with Carlene, Alison, and Laura! Please remind me to never wear that dress out in public again-yikes it does not photograph well!

The shower was a fun time and I look forward to meeting sweet, little Grayson in a few weeks! :)

Cinnamon rolls to start you off right!

I am usually not a fan of making anything time consuming in the morning (except for early Carolina games!), but when I saw the picture of these Cinnamon rolls in a magazine I HAD to make them!
It didn't take too long, only 30 minutes from start to mouth! Matt and I really enjoyed them-they were a great sweet breakfast item. The magazine compared them to Cinnabon's caramel sticky bun, but MORE healthy! woohoo!
Here's the easy recipe!
1. first heat 1/2 cup brown sugar, 2 tbsp butter, 2 tbsp honey, and 1 tbsp water in a saucepan until melted and combined. Pour the mixture on the bottom of a circle cake/pie pan.
2. Put as many biscuits as you can fit on top (I fit 5 big biscuits).
3. Brush the biscuits with melted butter and sprinkle a cinnamon sugar mixture on top.
4. Bake at 400 degrees for about 20 minutes. Take them out when the buns are starting to brown.
5. Fill the pan over onto a large plate. Make a glaze to put on top. To make the glaze, just combine 2 tbsp. milk with 1/3 cup of powdered sugar.
These cinnamon buns will make your morning start great!

I never get awards...

Until now!!!

My good friend Ashlee over at Pretty in Pink, and Orange Too! awarded me the Stylish Blogger Award! What a sweetheart to think of me!

So this is how it works:
1. Thank and link back to the person who gave you the award.
2. Share 7 things about yourself.
3. Award 8 recently discovered great bloggers.
4. Contact the bloggers and let them know about the award.

Well there are probably tons of things you don't know about me...but here are just seven!

1. I purposely don't make pklans Thursday nights so I don't miss the CBS lineup! I might be addicted to Outsourced and Parks & Rec!

2. I have taught fourth grade for three years and taught fifth grade for one year. If I had to teach fifth grade again, I would go back kicking and screaming!

3. Matt and I have been trying to get pregnant for a while now...fingers crossed for us!

4. I craft all the time, but am a little too nervous to have everyone see ALL my crafts!

5. I could eat ice cream every day. literally.

6. I love staying in hotels-as long as they have doors in the inside!

7. I now have brown hair and LOVE IT!

Wooohoo-that was fun! Now I am awarding it to the following AWESOME bloggers!

1. The Wife at Cobia Family
3. Holly at Life as a Thrifter
4. Kathleen at Kathleen's Korner
5. Leslie at Lamberts Lately
6. Candace at Mrs. Southern Belle

Dresser Redo!

Matt had a old dresser from way back before we met. This poor baby has been to many of houses throughout the years, but it makes me love it even more. All it needed was a little TLC to make it beautiful again! Tranformation pics:

What a pretty change if I do say so myself!

Have a good book for me? pretty please!

I just finished reading Snooki's wonderful fiction book (totally LOVED it!) and now I need a new book to obsess over. I read the Hunger Game series before Snooki's book and I love all types of genres. If anyone has a suggestion I am all ears! I am going crazy only reading magazines!

Holy Scavenger Hunt!

So Matt's birthday is today and I made a little scavenger hunt for him to find his gift. A little back ground on my sassy husband...he is one of the hardest people to buy for AND always knows what he is getting! Nothing makes me more mad than giving a gift to someone who knows what it is they are getting!

Back to his gift-well had a "very strong" idea that he was getting cowboy boots. He was right-UGH-so I worked hard to trick him! I wrapped up a box of cornbread mix as his gift. He was STUMPED-yes...success! So when he opened it this morning the box had clues written on it with other clues hidden around the house.

He was like a little kid again laughing while reading the clues. He finally did find his gift at the end-brand new cowboy boots! :)

Happy Birthday to my grown up cowboy!

Valentine's Day fun

I keep seeing all these adorable Valentine's Day crafts, but then I think who will look at that stuff but me!?!? I think they are all so cute (my fav. is a hot pink feather wreath!), but since we only have fur babies at the house I just don't see the point YET. Once we have a little one, it will be fun to decorate.

For now... here is my one and only decorate for the month of love. A sweet note to my hubby of two years February 21st...wow time flies by!

Dearest Kindle,

I want to express my deepest gratitude for having you in my life. I have spent many hours holding you, reading you, and protecting you for the wild babies Winston and Charlotte. Because of you I have gotten less angry while waiting at place and have learned some patience. You are the best gift a girl could every ask for!

Now back to reading Snooki's best seller...

All my love,
Ashley

All about the ladies!

This past weekend my hubby spent every waking hour putting hardwood floors down in our kitchen, living room, and hallway. They look amazing-I will post pics as soon as he lets me! He is a perfectionist and doesn't want anyone to see pics of projects half done...whatev!

Since he was busy working I took to the town for ladies nights BOTH Friday and Saturday night!

Friday I bunch of us teachers went to one of my favorite restaurants, Cantina 76. We have a wonderful time laughing, sipping margaritas, and catching up!

Saturday took me on a road trip to Charlotte, NC. It was a quick drive-only 1.5 hrs-with lots of fun to be had. Brooke, Christine, and I went shopping at Ikea and Concord Mills (holy busy!!!) and then went to a very trendy Mexican restaurant. They had the best table side guac I have ever had...too bad I can't remember the restaurant's name!!!

Here is the ONE pic I have from the weekend-maybe I just need a better camera to get me motivated to take pictures!
