One month!

Weston,

It is hard to believe you are a month old today! You are starting to recognize when Mommy and Daddy come into the room based on our voices. You eat almost four ounces every three hours during the day and four hours at night. None of your newborn clothes fit anymore (sad day that was!), but your 0-3 month clothes fit pretty good! You love your swing and snuggles with everyone.

I can't wait to see what the next few months have in store!

Love,

Momma

Key Lime Pie Mini Desserts

This weekend, I hosted a baby shower for my good friend Kerri at my house. We had such a great turn out with tons of our friends from college. It was so nice to see everyone and get to celebrate Kerri and baby Sullivan!

For something a little fancy looking-but easy!-I decided to make Key Lime Pie dessert shooters. We had something just like these at the wedding and they were a huge hit. Since they were so easy to make, I will defiantly be doing them again!

Key Lime Pie Dessert Shots

-combine 1 cup lime juice, 1 can sweetened condensed milk, 1 packet of instant vanilla pudding
-then fold in 1 container of cool whip
-put crushed graham crackers in the bottom of a small glass (I used shot glasses from a wholesale store)
-pipe key lime filling using a Ziploc bag
-top with crushed graham crackers and lime zest

These are a must have for your next party!

The heat can't bring me down

Disney was AMAZING!!!!! We had such a great time exploring Epcot, Hollywood Studies, Magic Kingdom, and the hotel's pool!

I did want to worry about lugging a camera with me so my sister volunteered for that job. Pictures will have to wait on her, but it shouldn't be too long. Wait until you see my big ol' belly in a sweet tie dyed shirt!

Stay cool and think of me going back to school tomorrow!

Disney or BUST

The fam and I will be heading down to the greatest place on Earth-Disney World-Thursday morning! We go every year, but this will be the first time we go with a preggers family member!

To prepare for the trip I stocked up on maternity tank tops and stretchy capris. Pray that I make it through that Florida heat! I love Disney and think we will have a great time, but the whole seven months pregnant thing might throw a wrench in things!

We will see.... :)

The best grow in the deep shade

This weekend Matt and I got up early and went on a blueberry picking adventure. After realizing the place only took cash-who does that anymore!-we had to make a last minute gas station run. After getting our cash money we began the uphill trek to the very best bushes! The nice old man who found us our spot told his to feel free to eat as we picked...oh man did I eat!! I think I ate more than I picked!

Nice, sweaty picture of me on a picking break!

Baby Weston sure does love blueberries already!

27 weeks

Here is a belly pic of me at 27 weeks (Thanks Kelly for the pic!)

Lately I have felt him move/kick in the morning and at night while laying in the bed. When I saw Harry Potter in the movie theatre he was going crazy during the Twilight movie preview....I told Matt that Weston is just as excited as me about Bella and Edward's upcoming wedding *sigh*

**BIG NEWS** I passed my Glucose Test!!! Hurray!!!!!!!!!!!

Get your paint on

I went painting last night with two girlfriends at Tag It Art in downtown Columbia. We had a great time painting a Christmas in July wreath! Of course I had to go all funky and change the colors, but I thought it turned out nice for an Easter wreath!!!

Mom's birthday dinner

My mom's birthday was last week, but my dad suprised her with a trip to Washington, SC that weekend. Rough life I know!

We decided to go out to dinner Sunday night with my sister and her boyfriend and my parents. We went to the new Mellow Mushroom in Lexington-not too shabby!

Here is mom blowing out her pretend candles!

Matt and I tried a new pizza for us-Red Skin Potato Pizza! It was sooo good! Of course Matt got no bacon on his pieces!

A good time was had by all! I am still stuffed as I type this out!

What I can't get enough of

1. Grouchos!
I could eat an STP all turkey EVERY meal EVERY day! For serious on that!

2. Crystal Light-except the Strawberry Banana Orange flavor, which gives me serious heartburn!

3. Decorating Weston's nursery! We will be done by the end of the week hurray!

nursery wall art

We wanted to do something different over the changing table/dresser so of course I turned to blogland to find some inspiration. After looking at some different pictures we decided to use Eric Carle alphabet cards as our wall art! For only $14.95 we got some cute animals and an alphabet!

After some extensive measurements by the hubs it was complete! I hope you like it as much as we do!

Just finished Weston's Bookshelves!

We worked hard to finish the bookshevles that we put up next to the crib. Now we just need some funky art for the walls. Any suggestions?!?

Matt did the cutting and base painting while I did the touch up work! Now that I am at 24 weeks, I think time will really fly by. This nursery better be ready sooner rather than later!

Nursery so far!

We ended up going a very different route than the three different bedding patterns I posted a few weeks ago. Here are the pics to show Weston's nursery so far. We have a ways to go still, but I love what we have done!

Glass Etching 1st Timer

I have noticed so many cute projects all over blogland that involved glass etching. I had to try it for an engagement/housewarming gift for our good friends Brooke and Ryan.

It was really easy and turned out excellent!

I started with a large glass pitcher. Then used contact paper and the Circuit to cut out the couple's monogram.

Apply the glass etching cream and let sit for 10 minutes. I then added another layer of cream and let it sit for another 10 minutes.
Wipe over and rinse the entire pitcher with water. Then take off the contact paper stencil and admire your awesome job!

Up since 5 a.m....

Who gets up at 5 a.m. on a summer break day? THIS GIRL! I thought pregnancy was supposed to make me sleep in late and nap all the time!

It is currently 7:46 a.m. and I have already:
*made the bed
*cleaned the bathroom
*washed my car (got some weird looks as commuters went to work!)
*did a load of laundry
*stitched a rip in a pair of Matt's pants

WOWZERS! Maybe a nap is in my future today...

Grilled peach dessert!

Notice all my food posts, well with summer break around here I get a chance to try new recipes and actually cook unique meals. During the school year I swear we eat the same things each week, but now I can think outside the box more.

With the leftover grilled peaches from last night's dinner, I made a fresh dessert. I took the grilled peaches, added Breyers' Vanilla Bean ice cream, and a drizzle of honey.

Easy, but oh so good! I love a fresh, ripe peach in the summer!

Must try dinner recipe

Grilled pizza is what is for dinner! I tried a new recipe I found in one of my guilty pleasure magazines. They originally added prosciutto to their grilled pizza, but we omitted because Matt doesn't eat meat-crazy I know!

I made the pizza dough from scratch (yummo!) and grilled it for about 3 minutes on each side. Then, while on the grill, we put olive oil as the base and added grilled peaches, blueberries, sliced onion, fresh basil, and mozzarella cheese.

Matt gave it two thumbs up! The possibilities of toppings are endless-this is a must try!

Weston's bedding YIKESABEE!

Bedding for Weston (p.s. that was the name we decided on!) has been an issue for me. I have been fixating on what to get for his room. People keep telling me it isn't a big deal, but I can't let it go!

Here are some of the ones I are deciding between. Any thoughts!??!

Reveal Party

Last week we had our Gender Reveal Party after our 20 week ultrasound. Well, Baby Whisonant is one sassy thing considering the little bug was curled up asleep for the entire ultrasound! Matt and I were freaking out thinking we would not be able to find out the gender, but luckily the vaginal ultrasound revealed we are having a BOY!

We are over the moon! I have been busy buying cute boy stuff...which most moms of boys know is so much harder than girl clothes! Matt has thankfully not fussed at me...yet...I think this last shipment from Gymboree might be it for awhile!

Here are some pics from the party thanks to my friends Emily and McKeever! :) I really do need to get better at taking pictures, I just get to into the moment and forget. What are good friends for though!

Charlotte and Winston revealed the gender by running out with a blue bandanna!

Look what I found cleaning

While cleaning I found a DVD from our honeymoon in Jamaica. Even though I feel guilty about ignoring the pictures for the past 2 and half years doesn't mean they shouldn't be published now!

It was nice to take a trip down memory lane for Matt and I!
