nursery wall art

We wanted to do something different over the changing table/dresser so of course I turned to blogland to find some inspiration. After looking at some different pictures we decided to use Eric Carle alphabet cards as our wall art! For only $14.95 we got some cute animals and an alphabet!

After some extensive measurements by the hubs it was complete! I hope you like it as much as we do!

Just finished Weston's Bookshelves!

We worked hard to finish the bookshevles that we put up next to the crib. Now we just need some funky art for the walls. Any suggestions?!?

Matt did the cutting and base painting while I did the touch up work! Now that I am at 24 weeks, I think time will really fly by. This nursery better be ready sooner rather than later!

Nursery so far!

We ended up going a very different route than the three different bedding patterns I posted a few weeks ago. Here are the pics to show Weston's nursery so far. We have a ways to go still, but I love what we have done!

Glass Etching 1st Timer

I have noticed so many cute projects all over blogland that involved glass etching. I had to try it for an engagement/housewarming gift for our good friends Brooke and Ryan.

It was really easy and turned out excellent!

I started with a large glass pitcher. Then used contact paper and the Circuit to cut out the couple's monogram.

Apply the glass etching cream and let sit for 10 minutes. I then added another layer of cream and let it sit for another 10 minutes.
Wipe over and rinse the entire pitcher with water. Then take off the contact paper stencil and admire your awesome job!

Up since 5 a.m....

Who gets up at 5 a.m. on a summer break day? THIS GIRL! I thought pregnancy was supposed to make me sleep in late and nap all the time!

It is currently 7:46 a.m. and I have already:
*made the bed
*cleaned the bathroom
*washed my car (got some weird looks as commuters went to work!)
*did a load of laundry
*stitched a rip in a pair of Matt's pants

WOWZERS! Maybe a nap is in my future today...

Grilled peach dessert!

Notice all my food posts, well with summer break around here I get a chance to try new recipes and actually cook unique meals. During the school year I swear we eat the same things each week, but now I can think outside the box more.

With the leftover grilled peaches from last night's dinner, I made a fresh dessert. I took the grilled peaches, added Breyers' Vanilla Bean ice cream, and a drizzle of honey.

Easy, but oh so good! I love a fresh, ripe peach in the summer!

Must try dinner recipe

Grilled pizza is what is for dinner! I tried a new recipe I found in one of my guilty pleasure magazines. They originally added prosciutto to their grilled pizza, but we omitted because Matt doesn't eat meat-crazy I know!

I made the pizza dough from scratch (yummo!) and grilled it for about 3 minutes on each side. Then, while on the grill, we put olive oil as the base and added grilled peaches, blueberries, sliced onion, fresh basil, and mozzarella cheese.

Matt gave it two thumbs up! The possibilities of toppings are endless-this is a must try!
